Breeding Peacock Bass

Normally you will put 1 male to two females for breeding, but before the breeding and after the fish has matured (You can see thee male nuchal hump showing on the head), you should feed the fish with high protein pellet (like ARG1) (Coming soon!) or if there is no other choice, marine trash fish cut into small pieces.

Breeding tank should be about at least 500 litres of water. Put a piece of slate rock for the breeding.
The pair will start to be territorial, and chase away all other fish from the spawning site, this usually involve minor chasing or pushing, since they don't have teeth, rarely does it result in any injuries, the perimeter is usually 1-2feet in any direction.

They will clean the spawning site and a near by depression if you have sand or gravel where they will keep the eventual fry's.
